Luke's statement is below. The process to replace Luke as manager of the Saturday Men's team will start immediately. P Rozetta will take over interim management on 1st October 2023.

The committee would like to thank Luke for all of his hard work in developing the youth section and of course will be welcome back anytime.

After 13 years of coaching, 10 years of them at Charing it is time for it to come to an end (for now). Due to my own children growing and my work schedule changing I’m unable to commit my time to the club. I’ve made some great friends over the years and loved watching the lads grow from the age of 5 through to now where there either going off to work or heading to university. We’ve had our ups and our downs as any club does but we’ve always come back stronger when we’ve pulled together as a football family.

Finally I’d like to thank the club for showing the belief in myself and my coaching team to get the youth section up and running all them years ago. Without the help of the numerous people on the committee working tirelessly in the back ground the club wouldn’t be what it is today. Thank you to all the coaches who have stepped forward and helped drive teams forward to make the youth section what it is. You can now see all the hard work has paid off as we’ve started to feed players into the senior section. The club is now striving forward with the Kent County League side who is made up of players who have predominantly come through from our youth section. This just shows the journey that we have come on from starting with just 9 players and now we’ve got over 100 youth players across 8 sides.

I shall now step into the role of being Charing’s biggest supporter and will get to as many games as I possible can until hopefully my children decide to play in the great black & white stripes of Charing Football Club.
